This is a rather annoying problem. What happens is that sometimes you download this cool new App and then you install it and open it for the first time, it does the normal asking for permission thingy and you want to give it said permission. Then this happens.
And then you can't find an option to turn this thing off and then it just gets on your nerves. Never fear, it can be fixed. What the problem is, is a screen overlay issue which is a feature of some apps that makes it able to display over the top of other apps. The most well-known example is chat heads in Facebook Messenger.
So if you have this issue, your best bet is simply to do what the dialog box tells you to do. Now before you go all "but i tried to", the language is a little confusing, but what it's saying in essence is:
- Launch the Settings app from your home screen or app drawer.
- Scroll down and tap Applications.
- Tap Application Manager.
- Tap More to open the menu in the top right corner.
- Tap Apps that can appear on top.
Once you can get this done you'll need to track down the app that needs permission to use a screen overlay — usually the app you were just using. Once found, just tap the toggle next to it to turn it off, and you should be good to go.
That's the simplest way, but sometimes this is a bit of an issue, tracking what app that is. If you use apps like Clean Master or alert center app Drupe or Lux, those may be the apps causing the issue.
If you follow these steps, then you should have no problem sorting out a screen overlay problem.
