ASUS to Launch Zenfone 4 Series in May

2017 is looking to be a great year for ASUS and its smartphone business as the company aims to ship over 35 million smartphone units this year, double the amount it shipped out last year. And while the ZenFone AR and ZenFone 3 Zoom, presented at CES 2017, might be leading the initial charge for the year, it’s the company’s upcoming ZenFone 4 series that will be the bulk of what the company sells this year. And today, sources from the company’s supply chain have claimed that the company plans to launch its new series of ZenFone devices in May.

Not much is known about the company’s ZenFone 4 series yet other than it will most definitely include sweeping hardware upgrades all around, which means an increase in the smartphone family’s average selling price. Whether the continually rising selling prices will be good for the company’s smartphone business is unknown, as its ZenFone 2 series from 2015 became massively popular specifically because of their very competitive selling prices, but it must be noted that the company’s ZenFone 3 more expensive ZenFone 3 failed to make the company a profit last year.

Last year, the company shipped only 17.5 million ZenFone-series smartphones, a 14.6% reduction from its 20.5 million units shipped in 2015. The higher average selling price of its ZenFone 3 series also put many of its fans off, which may have also affected sales. We’ll just have to wait and see if the larger planned shipping number as well as the launch and release of its ZenFone AR, ZenFone 3 Zoom, and ZenFone 4 series, will turn things around for the company this year.

Elephone P25 coming soon with 6GB RAM and a big camera sensor

Back in November, we received information about an upcoming Elephone device with 6GB RAM. What seems to become a standard amount of RAM, is about to hit the market inside the Elephone P25. As its name suggests, it will feature the Helio P25 SoC that has support for that amount of RAM. Later on, we learned that the device will also come in Mocha Gold Color.

HTC 11 Expected Specs & Launch Date

There are currently no official words on the specs the HTC Ocean would feature but it would most likely feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset, probably the latest Snapdragon 835. The device is expected with a 4GB RAM and 32GB of expandable storage on the base version. Considering the three leaked code-names, the HTC Ocean may likely have more than one storage version. The device might also come with support for Google’s new VR platform Daydream.

In addition, the HTC Ocean would most likely use the USB Type-C interface and come without the 3.5mm audio jack. HTC did that on the HTC 10 Evo that was announced recently as well as on the HTC Bolt. The device will likely also feature a front sitting fingerprint sensor and will most likely run Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box with  touch of the latest HTC Sense.

Furthermore, there is likely going to be more than one display sizes on the three different versions but we don’t have a specific figure for now. A rumor suggesting details of the display says the HTC 11 will sport a 5.5-inch display with a 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution just like the Pixel XL. There are rumors that there would be a curved display on one of the versions of the HTC Ocean. We also cannot say just yet if HTC will opt for an LCD or AMOLED display but latest HTC devices use LCD displays.

New Meizu M5 Note Poster Hints at M1 Note Design

Meizu is set to launch a new Blue Charm phone come Tuesday, 6th of December. The phone manufacturer released a new teaser image which hints at the Meizu M5 Note having a design similar to the M1 Note.

Recent rumors have said the Meizu M5 Note will come in two versions like the previous models: a standard edition sporting a polycarbonate body called the M5 Note name and another version clad in metal called the M5 Metal.

If the Meizu M5 Note is indeed going to share a design similar to the M1 Note, we should expect the same iPhone 5C glossy kind of plastic but which is available in bright colors.

The M5 Note will retain the 5.5-inches screen size the series is known for. It will however be settling for a smaller RAM, 2.5GB to be exact. There will be a Helio P10m processor under the hood and the phone will be powered by a 4000mAh battery.

New Nokia Phone Dubbed Nokia Pixel & Running Android 7.0 Spotted on GeekBench

It is becoming obvious by the day that the return of smartphone legend Nokia into the Android market is imminent. The company was tipped to release a smartphone before the year runs out but that isn’t likely anymore. Even at that, a return in the first quarter of 2017 is possible and GeekBench may have given us an idea of what to expect from the Finnish company. A Nokia smartphone dubbed Nokia Pixel has been spotted on benchmark website GeekBench database, revealing some of its specs.

The Nokia Pixel doesn’t really tickle on the specs table as it is listed as sporting a Snapdragon 200 chip under its hood which is a Dual-core CPU clocked at 1.19GHz. There is also an Adreno 302 GPU and just 1GB of RAM onboard. The device has Android 7.0 Nougat pre-installed inside despite the low-level spec listed.

Elephone Helio P25 device with 6+64GB coming next month

Devices with 6GB RAM will become mainstream in a couple of years. So, manufacturers are already beginning to develop and produce many of them. So is Elephone that, according to rumors, is about to launch a mysterious model with 6GB/128GB configuration.There are not many SoCs that support 6GB of RAM, and since Elephone is using exclusively MTK chips, it should be one that does. Helio P25 is a probability since it has support for that amount of RAM. The mystery device will probably be released next month.

More details are not available for now, but it is reporter that it will feature a 16MP or 21MP rear camera. Also, it will likely feature a display bigger than 5.5″. This should give enough space for a battery capacity of 4000mAh and up. The above information are not official yet, but if they are true, the new model of Elephone is already competitive enough. Moreover, its price will likely be under $300.
