Chinese Smartphone company Xiaomi released their highly popular and successful Mi Mix just last month and it was perhaps the closest we’ve gotten so far to a near bezel-free smartphone.
It was great, but it had a slight drawback; its size. So naturally when rumours that there was a smaller Mi Mix Nano possibly in the works people got excited.
Unfortunately though, Xiaomi marketing director Zang Zhiyuan took to Weibo to confirm that the Nano does not in fact exist.
The Mi Mix was really popular due to the minimalistic bezel presence. There are still some, especially at the bottom, but the Mi Mix boasted of a 91.3% screen to body ratio that no other smartphone has. It didn’t hurt that it also had high-end hardware, like a Snapdragon 821 processor, 4 or 6 GB of RAM, and 128 or 256 GB of internal storage.
So the major drawback was the screen as it made it really hard to hold due to its size, so a Mi Mix Nano leak was naturally welcomed by many especially as it promised a 5.5-inch screen with almost the exact same specs, though the storage is capped at 64 GB.
But according to Zhiyuan, there is no such product called a Mi Mix Nano. He further clarifies that this leak came from another brand using shady marketing tactics. In other words, it’s most likely a clone that is riding on the Mi Mix popularity and the Xiaomi name to sell their product.
So sorry guys, no Nano Xiaomi Mi Mix exists, but it's possible the company could still go ahead to do it or if you don't mind knock offs or clones, then you might find a smaller Mi Mix in the market, just not from Xiaomi.
