You Thought the Airpods won't sell well cos of their weird look or exorbitant Price? Guess Again

When the Apple AirPods were first announced and it was revealed that it would have no wires, there was skepticism from many about how well they would do.

Things such as the price and the perceived ease with which it could be lost were pointed out.

But it seems that was all for naught as the sale of the AirPods have been going just fine. According to an infographic released by online shopping analyst Slice Intelligence, the AirPods are currently winning in the market.

The AirPods which went on sale on December 13, 2016, took out Beats headphones in sales. For context, Beats were the leaders the year before.

As if that's not enough, you have to keep in mind that Apple owns Beats so from the chart above, that means Apple has just over 40 percent of the current market for wireless headphones among online buyers. Bose is the next-largest independent brand, at 16 percent share.

According to the stats by Slice Intelligence, most of the buyers of the AirPods online are male and most are millennials (1990s/2000s kids basically).

These stats are only for online sales though, meaning that the success of the AirPods might even be more remarkable when you consider physical sales and so on.

So Apple is certainly winning so far, can anyone keep up?
