You can now buy your Apple Airpods...just in time for Christmas

It took a while, but here we are; you can now purchase you Apple airpods-- and just in time too, Christmas is just around the corner.

If you're looking for it you'll just have to fork out a cool $159 (about N50,000) and you could get it in time for the festive season with the advertised delivery date at Dec. 21.

The arrival comes soon after it was claimed that AirPods were only "days" from launch. The product was first announced alongside the iPhone 7 lineup in September, but missed its originally advertised shipping window.

According to AppleInsider, the company said that there was not a chance that they were going to miss a holiday season release. Additionally, several venues have received pre-release sets for review.

"We're ready to go any time," one AppleInsider retail source said. "We've got a few pairs for customer demonstration that we're just waiting on the word to start with."

Early reviews suggest that it is cool device with the wireless feature and rumours of an audio syncing problem were laid to rest.

The product features Apple's proprietary W1 chip for more robust Bluetooth audio connections and easy iCloud-based pairing. The W1 chip is also featured in the previously-launched Powerbeats3 and Beats Solo3 Wireless headphones, and will also be featured in the forthcoming BeatsX, though the latter has also seen delays.

The AirPods, however, feature unique technology that goes beyond the W1. The wireless earbuds are also set to include beam-forming microphones, accelerometers, infrared sensors, and a small charging and carrying case that will provide more power on the go, as well as the mechanism to sync with an iPhone.

The only problem with the airpods is how easy they will be to lose. So before you fork out 50gs please be sure you know exactly where you're going to keep them at all times.
